Since 1904, Anthony Downs has provided fans with the best in horse and dog racing. The annual races, held in July, has become a Mid-West Tradition.
Fans who choose to sit in the beautiful, open-air grandstand are treated to close-up racing, as the grandstand is separated from the track by less than 6 feet.
The race schedule consists of alternating horse and dog races, at a fast and furious pace of every 15 minutes, providing plenty of wagering opportunities, and lots of racing action.
Our 105th running will include the VERY popular Kansas City BBQ Society Cook-Off on Friday July 17th - Saturday July 18th, 2009.
This year will feature the First Annual Ladies Derby Hat Parade Contest, Sunday, July 19th. It's time for the ladies to bring out their best hats, and get registered for this contest.
